THE FULLER CENTER FOR HOUSING PARTNERS WITH
BURTON ENTERPRISES AND BALLOWAX
AMERICUS, GA — October 24, 2005 — The Fuller
Center for Housing, an organization that provides housing for people
in need around the world, recently signed an agreement with Burton Enterprises
to exclusively develop and manufacture products to support the Center;
and with Ballowax to manage the e-commerce and product fulfillment operations.
This announcement came from Millard Fuller, president of The Fuller
Center for Housing.
The Fuller Center for Housing is an organization that
provides housing for people in need around the world, and seeks to work
as a companion with low-income housing providers and Habitat for Humanity
affiliates, by providing funds and other support to advance their important
work.
“This is an important step for the Center, as
we need to brand ourselves and be able to reach out to people around
the world,” said Mr. Fuller. “This union between the Center,
Burton Enterprises and Ballowax will help us get closer to our goals
and objectives,” he added.
Burton Enterprises of Americus, GA, owned and operated
by Ed and Winnie Burton, will design and manufacture the familiar uniforms
for the volunteers who build the homes, including hats, T-shirts, water
bottles, and other logo items. Ballowax of Halifax, VA, owned by Lisa
Kipps-Brown, A. Kelly Shaw and Ed Burton, will design and build the
internet store and handle the warehousing and distribution of the product
after it is manufactured. The Fuller Center’s e-commerce link
is projected to be up and running by year-end 2005, and can be found
at www.fullercenter.org.
Ed Burton expressed his admiration for the Fullers’
work. “In light of the destruction that’s been going on,
affordable housing is becoming a widespread need. All of us at Burton
Enterprises and Ballowax are proud to be working with an organization
loaning their time and expertise to such a worthwhile cause." Lisa
Kipps-Brown added, “Since one of our goals at Ballowax is to help
provide jobs for people who have been displaced due to the decline of
local industry, we feel that our mission is complimentary to that of
The Fuller Center for Housing and we look forward to contributing to
the Center's worldwide growth.”
Millard and Linda Fuller founded The Fuller Center
for Housing in 2005. Its mission is to work as a companion with low-income
housing providers and Habitat for Humanity affiliates by providing funds
and other support to advance their important work. They were recently
honored by former President George H. W. Bush at a ceremony in Washington,
DC for the founding of Habitat for Humanity. For more information visit
